Lore Capsule — ESPN Linker Extension · Last updated February 28, 2025
The Lore Capsule ESPN Linker lets you connect your ESPN Fantasy account to your Lore Capsule account. It reads authentication cookies set by ESPN in your browser and sends them to Lore Capsule so the service can access your fantasy league data on your behalf.
When you click Link ESPN Account, the extension reads two cookies that ESPN stores in your browser:
These values are sent to lorecapsule.com over HTTPS and stored on our server so we can fetch your fantasy league information.
When you click Grab League, the extension reads the URL of your active browser tab to extract a league ID. That league ID is sent to lorecapsule.com along with your linking code.
The 8-character linking code you enter is temporarily saved in your browser's local storage for convenience and automatically cleared after 5 minutes.
ESPN cookies and league IDs are used solely to link your ESPN Fantasy leagues to your Lore Capsule account and retrieve your league data. They are not used for any other purpose.
Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with third
parties. ESPN credentials are only sent to lorecapsule.com
(our own service) and are transmitted securely over HTTPS.
ESPN credentials are stored securely on Lore Capsule's servers. You can unlink your ESPN account at any time from your Account Settings page, which deletes your stored ESPN credentials.
If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
